6 Miles Baby!!
2 miles...eh
Last night, I planned to run six miles. However, life doesn't always go as planned. Scott's meeting ran longer than planned and he didn't get home until after 8. Carter had to be picked up from soccer by 8:45, so I was left with 25 minutes to run. Better than nothing, but still VERY frustrating. I ran two miles and called it a night. Tonight I plan on the six miles....

St. Pat's Run
Me and 12,000+ others joined together to run the annual St. Patricks Day run in downtown STL. It was crazy crowded and I think I was the only person not wearing their "free" shirt...very easy to pick me, in pink, out of a huge mass of green. Anyway, I thought the route was pretty great...lots of inclines, but the downhill runs made it do-able for me. I had to stop at a porta-potty at the water station...something I've never had to do. I even went before the race, but I just couldn't hold it and I knew it would be all I thought about. There was a line of four in front of me, but it went pretty quick. As usual, mile 3.5-5 felt the best..I wish the first few miles weren't so hard for me. I definitely felt like I could go farther and plan on doing a long run (6+ miles) on Tuesday. I registered after the cut-off date and therefore my bib did not have a timing chip in it. I did start my watch as we crossed the starting line and immediately at the finish and it read 56:06. Took me a long time to find my friends after I finished...the place was chaos. And once home, I had to immediately pick up Cate and we headed to Scott's baseball game, so I wasn't able to rest, relax, and stretch. I'm very tired today :)

ABC's of Me...
Wednesday Run
Crappy run. I was in a crappy mood. Stepped in water a few blocks out and my feet were freezing the entire time. Started to rain. Where is the warm spring weather?
Monday Run~
I made this poster to display the girls "promises". We read it each week before the workout

Sunday Run
My boys were totally grossed out by my sweat marks!
My first training run report. And it's a good one :) I will just skip all previous run details and start from my last run. This weekends long run was a five mile run. I really wasn't sure I would be able to do it. I've had some terrible pain in my legs the last few weeks. Started in my thigh, moved to my hamstrings, then settled in my calves. After my 5k race last weekend, I could barely walk. I took a few days off and thankfully I've had very little pain this week. All the stars aligned and I was able to go for my run around 6:30pm...a few hours earlier than normal. Rather than run my regular neighborhood loop, I decided to venture out. I didn't have an exact route planned, I just figured I would decide as I went. I couldn't believe how great I felt through the first 2.5 miles. I then chose a path that would take me far from my house and I knew if I was running on roads heavy with traffic that I would be too vain to walk! And I was right. No way would I be caught walking :) When I got back to the corner of my street, I was at 4.83 so I decided to take the long way home and ended back at my house at 5.6 miles. I still felt great and felt like I could have gone longer, but didn't want to push it. I came home and immediately jumped in my first ice bath. I was so sweaty and hot that it wasn't hard for me to plop my butt right in. Once in though, I thought my heart was going to stop. However, it worked just like everyone said and I've had zero soreness.
